These terms govern your use of aChordion (the “Service”), a tool for writing down, organising, and performing song charts. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.
Your account
You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings; doing so permanently removes your songs and personal notes, and hands any band you own with other members to another member so their work is preserved.
Your content
You keep ownership of the charts, lyrics, chords, notes, and other content you create, import, or share through the Service (“Your Content”). You’re responsible for Your Content and for having the right to use it — including anything you paste in via import or share with a band.
You agree not to use the Service to store or share material you don’t have the right to use, or that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights. The Service’s import and sharing features are neutral tools; what you put into them is your responsibility.
Copyright & takedowns
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@achordion.app with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, and we’ll review and act on valid notices — including removing content and, for repeat infringers, terminating accounts.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the Service: no attempts to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to it or to other users’ data, and no use for unlawful purposes.
Subscriptions & billing
Personal use is free, forever. All core features — song editor, transpose, capo, stage mode, autoscroll, PDF export, personal notes, offline sync, and import — are available to every signed-in user at no charge and will never be gated behind a subscription.
Band features are available on optional paid tiers. Every band starts on the free Session tier. The band owner may upgrade to a paid tier — Gigging or Ensemble — which unlocks the higher limits for everyone in that band. Paid tiers are billed as a single per-band fee (not per seat); members do not pay individually. Current list prices are shown in the upgrade flow and may change with notice.
Payments are processed by Paddle (paddle.com), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Paddle is the legal seller of record: they collect payment, calculate and remit applicable VAT and sales tax, issue compliant invoices, and handle refund and chargeback processes under their own buyer terms. Card and payment details are entered directly into Paddle’s hosted checkout overlay and never touch our servers; we store only a Paddle customer ID and subscription ID.
Cancellation, downgrades & refunds
You can cancel or downgrade a band subscription at any time through the Paddle billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period by default; you retain access to the paid tier until then.
When a band is downgraded or a subscription lapses, the band returns to the free Session tier. Your data is never deleted as a result of a plan change. Songs, set lists, and other content that exceed the Session tier’s limits remain readable and playable; you simply can’t add new content beyond the limit until the band is back under the limit or you upgrade again.
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, refund requests are handled under Paddle’s buyer terms. Questions about a charge or a refund should be directed to Paddle’s support; we’re happy to assist — email support@achordion.app if you need help navigating the process.
Service “as is”
The Service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep your data safe and available but can’t guarantee the Service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.
Changes
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We’ll update the date above when we do; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
